-まず始めにあなたのプロフィールを教えて頂けますか？

-Please tell us your profile.

僕の名前はSigurd Bank。今31歳でデンマークの首都、コペンハーゲンにあるノレブロという街でアーティストとして活動している彼女と一緒に住みながら服を作っているよ。趣味と言ったらやっぱりバイクに乗ることかな？7台も持ってるよ。
あとはスプレー缶でペイントすることと、レコードを集めたり好きな音楽を聞いてまったりすること。服に関して言えば、mfpenを通じて僕たちが表現していきたい素材や衣服に対して強い熱意を持って接しているということは間違いないね。



My name is Sigurd Bank, I’m 31 years old and living and working in Nørrebro, Copenhagen.
I live with my girlfriend who works as an artist. I have 7 bikes, I like riding them, I like to paint with spray cans, collect records and listen to good music.
I also have a big passion for fabrics and garments which I express through my company, mfpen.

-Could you tell us your brand,mfpen?

mfpenは2015年に僕が自身で立ち上げたコペンハーゲンを拠点とするメンズウェアレーベル。実験的で遊び心溢れる僕たちのフィルターを通してスカンジナビアの伝統的なメンズウェアの再解釈を目指して日々頑張っているよ。さっき言ったように素材は勿論だけど、カッティングにも重点を置いたファーストコレクションを16AWにドロップしたんだ。



mfpen is a Copenhagen-based menswear label, founded in 2015 by myself. Working to reinterpret the traditional notion of Scandinavian menswear through an experimental and playful scope. First collection dropped for AW16, and since the emphasis is on the fabrics and cuts.

-なぜmfpenを立ち上げることになったのですか

-What made you established mfpen?

僕が他のブランドでデザインやプロダクションをしていた時にもいくつか良いアイディアが浮かんでたんだけど、それを形にするには勿論、上司の許可が必要であったし、作ったとしても僕だけのヴィジョンで作ることは出来なかったと思うんだ。それにその当時はオーバーサイズでリラックスしたシルエットのアイテムをデンマーク国内で探すことはとても難しかったんだ。そのことがきっかけで、数型だけ自分で作り始めたんだ。他のブランドで働いている間にね。もうmfpen一筋だけど！



As I was working for different brands doing designs and production for them and their vision, I had ideas that I couldn’t execute within them. And at this time, it was very hard to find oversize and relaxed silhouettes in Denmark. So I started making few pieces on the side, while still working for the other companies.
